Dr. Carolyn B. Morgan

Dr. Carolyn B. Morgan is currently a Professor of Mathematics in the Department of Mathematics in the School of Science. Dr. Morgan is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association. She was awarded her Ph.D. in Administrative and Engineering Systems - Statistics from Union College in Schenectady, NY in 1982, Master of Science degree in Mathematics from Wright State University in 1973, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University in 1969. Her industrial experience includes employment with General Motors and over twenty-three years at GE’s Corporate Research and Development Center. As a statistician at GE she was involved in the successful development and application of mathematical and statistical methods to real-world problems in manufacturing and high-technology businesses. She was a member of the team that developed the GE Profile smart dishwasher. Dr. Morgan’s research interests include statistical data analysis, mathematical modeling, reliability and life data analysis, design of experiments, accelerated testing, and environmental sampling plans. She is the author or co-author of over thirty (30) scientific articles and has given over sixty (60) technical presentations.

Dr. Morgan’s research interests include statistical data analysis, mathematical modeling, reliability and life data analysis, design of experiments, accelerated testing, environmental sampling plans and analysis. She has over twenty years of experience as a statistician in a Fortune 500 company where she was involved in the successful development and application of mathematical and statistical methods to real-world problems in manufacturing and high-technology businesses.
