38th Annual Conference on the Black Family

The 38th Annual Conference on the Black Family at Hampton University was held during March 16-18, 2016. This year theme was "Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead: Healthy Minds and Bodies, Securing Our Future." Our speakers and panelists (1) helped dispel myths that are culpable for underrepresentation of African Americans in S.T.E.M. fields, (2) showed the connection between the Arts and the Sciences through music, and (3) discussed safety in cyberspace. We also entertained our guests from local elementary schools with hands-on activities during our S.T.E.A.M. Expo and the "PHantastic (Physics) Voyage". Last, but not least we focused on health issues that are important to our families, such as stroke.
