Current position: Ford Foundation Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech).

Awards and recognitions: National Science Foundation Pre-Doctoral Fellowship, the MIT Institute Fellowship, the Henry Hill Research Award; the Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership; Visiting Student, the John Innes Centre in Norwich, England.

Reflections: "Having traversed the halls of some of the most prestigious institutions in the world, I deeply understand the importance of having institutions that are created in my own image and that are committed to bettering our communities."
